===== Download VMware player =====
To download the VMware player you first have to register at the [[http://www.vmware.com/go/downloadplayer/|download page]]. The VM images were created with version 3.0.0.
===== Download the virtual machine =====
Download the virtual machine from the following URL {{:vms:tq_ubuntu_tqmp2020_clean.zip|Virtual Machine for TQMP2020}} and unzip it to an arbitrary directory.
The filesize is about 1 GB
===== Importing the TQ VM image =====
After the launch of VMware player an image can be opened with the dialog ''File > Open a Virtual Machine ...''. Now select the VMware vmx file from the virtual machines's directory.
===== Starting the Virtual Machine =====
The Virtual Machine can be started via the button ''Play Virtual Machine'' of the graphical interface. The Ubuntu Linux will be launched in the current window.
===== Login =====
The login data for the Virtual Machines is:
* **User name**: ''tq''
* **Password**: ''password''
Ubuntu does not have a ''root'' user. If commands require certain specific rights run this with sudo. A normal user password has to be entered there.
===== Features of the Virtual Machine =====
For the corresponding module the respective cross-toolchain and frequently used programs were installed on the Virtual Machines.
==== ELDK Toolchain version 4.2 ====
For the architecture ''ppc_85xxDP'' ELDK 4.2 has been installed in the Virtual Machine for the TQMP2020. The instruction [[en:tqmp2020:installation_eldk_toolchain|Installation ELDK Toolchain]] was used therefore.
==== TFTP and NFS server ====
The Virtual Machine already contains a [[en:TFTP]] server and an [[en:NFS]] server.
==== Eclipse ====
[[en:Eclipse]] Indigo with the C Development Tools has been installed as the Integrated Development Environment. A starter in the top bar will start Eclipse with the correct environment variables.
